Almeria
Easter Week in Almeria has been declared a Festival of National Tourist Interest. More than 20 brotherhoods and 15,000 cofrades transform the capital. For those staying in the areas of the province, Almeria capital is a short distance away and offers high quality processions without the overcrowding of Malaga or Seville.

Granada (1h) Processions of the Albaicín: Aurora, Concepción and Estrella through narrow streets with the Alhambra in the background. At midnight: Cristo del Silencio along the Carrera del Darro.
Good Friday
Granada (1h) Prayer to the Cristo de los Favores in Campo del Príncipe at 15:00h. Thousands of people pray 3 Our Fathers and make 3 wishes.
Holy Saturday
Essential Procession of Santa Maria de la Alhambra, which descends from the Nasrid enclosure. One of the most spectacular images of all Andalusia.

Monumental Great brotherhood tradition. The processions go through the historic center with the imposing Fortaleza de la Mota as a backdrop.

Jaén (1h) Procession of Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno ("El Abuelo"), one of the most emotional in Andalusia. It can last more than 7 hours and mobilizes a large part of the city.

Culture Fortaleza de la Mota (national monument), route through the olive groves (world capital of olive oil), hiking in the Sierras Subbéticas.
Malaga
Holy Week in Malaga is one of the most spectacular in Spain, with 45 processions and large processional thrones. Declared of International Tourist Interest. The areas of the Costa del Sol and Axarquia offer privileged access.

Easter Monday
Málaga El Cautivo ("Lord of Málaga"): thousands of people in absolute silence accompany the image. Procession of massive devotion.
Holy Wednesday
Unique Jesus "El Rico" frees a royal prisoner (tradition since Carlos III, unique in Spain). Amnesty act at 20:30h near the Plaza de la Aduana.
Maundy Thursday
The big day 8 brotherhoods. The Legion disembarks at the port (~10:00h) and carries the Cristo de la Buena Muerte. Hearing "El novio de la muerte" sung is an impressive experience. Also: Esperanza, Zamarrilla, Viñeros.
Good Friday
Solemn 8 brotherhoods. Virgen de la Soledad: a single drum, lights off, illuminated only by candles. Moment of maximum emotion.
Council
Practical Do not go by car to the center of Malaga: streets closed from 16h to early morning. Use suburban trains (special night timetable). Wear a jacket (10-15°C at night) and comfortable shoes. App: Be Cofrade.

Thursday-Friday
Spectacular The processions cross the iconic New Bridge over the Tajo de Ronda. The procession follows Calle Virgen de la Paz, Puente Nuevo and Calle Armiñán. Bands of music and chapels accompany the thrones.
Early Friday morning
Solemn Brotherhood of the Stmo. Cristo de la Sangre from the Collegiate Church of Santa María la Mayor: procession in absolute silence, without music.

Culture Tajo de Ronda, Arab Baths, Bullring (the oldest in Spain), wine cellars of the Serrania, hiking.
Tips for motorhomers
✓Book in advance your place in the areas. Semana Santa is one of the strongest peaks of the year, especially near Malaga, Ronda and Sanlucar.
✓Avoid driving in the city centers during the processions: streets are closed from 4 pm to early morning. Use public transport or go on foot.
✓Bring warm clothes for the evenings (10-15°C on the coast, colder inland) and comfortable shoes for walking for hours.
✓Check apps with real-time itineraries: Sanlúcar (Barramedia), Málaga (Ser Cofrade App).
✓Have a Plan B for rain: rain can suspend processions. Prepare cultural or gastronomic alternatives.
✓Small towns (Carboneras, Níjar, Villablanca, Torrox) offer intimate and authentic processions, ideal for families.
