What changes when a vehicle is longer than nine meters?

It’s not just a matter of whether you fit. There are three things that can get complicated, and it’s a good idea to check them before booking.

The turning radius. Many areas have lots that are long enough, but the driveways are designed for 7-meter-wide vehicles. A 9-meter-wide vehicle can fit, but it takes two or three maneuvers to park, and that’s difficult when there are neighbors on both sides. Ask about the width of the driveway, not just the length of the lot.

The access height. Barriers and entrance arches are usually between 3.20 and 3.50 meters high. If you have a roof-mounted bike rack or a satellite dish, measure it.

The location of the outlets. In a long vehicle, the power outlet and the wastewater drain are far from the service point. A 25-meter cable solves almost everything, but it’s one of those things you don’t realize until it’s too late.

Six of the ten are less than one kilometer from the beach

This is the most searched-for term in August, so it’s listed separately. Six of them are less than one kilometer from the water: Sanlúcar, M&H El Rincón, Milucar, Roquetas, Málaga Beach, and Gregorio Beach. Playas de Luz is less than five kilometers away.

Three of them have their own swimming pools: Camper Park Roquetas, Camper Área M&H El Rincón, and Camper Park Playas de Luz. The complete list of sites with swimming pools and the list of sites less than 1 km from the beach can be found in their respective filters.

Ciudad de Ronda is in the higher price range, between €20 and €24 depending on the season, and it’s the only one that puts you within walking distance of Ronda’s historic center. Bellavista, in Maracena, serves as a base for Granada, with public transportation nearby. And Nirvana, in Villablanca, is just a stone’s throw from the Portuguese border.

A Note on Caravans

Just because an area allows vehicles longer than nine meters doesn’t mean it allows motorhomes with trailers. These are two different things, and it’s best not to assume they’re the same. Of these ten, six allow motorhomes at no additional cost: Playas de Luz, Roquetas, Milucar, Ciudad de Ronda, Sanlúcar, and Nirvana. Two others allow them for an additional fee: Bellavista and Málaga Beach. For Gregorio Beach and M&H El Rincón, this information isn’t listed—it’s best to call. You can find the list in the filter for sites that accept RVs.
